ten rules of life

The Ten Rules Of Life:

1) Dream – Dream as if reality does not exist. People can take away everything but your dreams.

2) Speak up – If you love someone speak up for they may die tomorrow, if you witness an injustice speak up for the favor could be returned someday, if someone wrongs you speak up for you are to good to let them win.

3) Question – Question everybody and everything dont believe lies. Remember, first impressions can deceive, words can be misleading, and people aren’t always, as they seem.

4) Embrace- Embrace your every blessing, in a world of internet, media, movies, money, and jewelry it is all to easy to forget what really matters; remember that while you may lack money or other worldly goods some people lack the two fundamental blessings; Family and friends.

5) Laugh – Laugh until your eyes water and your jaw is soar from smiling, the smile is the bodies most expressive feature, don’t let tears overpower it.

6) Humble- Humble yourself, you never know if the people you are laughing at could be laughing at you to.

7) Live- Doesn’t matter if you are 8, 16, 20, 40, or 50, don’t let your spirit grow old; laugh as if you were 8, party as if you were 16, love as if you were 20, cherish your youth as if you were 40, and reminisce as if you were 50. Too many people get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and forget to preserve their youth, don’t be one of them.

8)Accept- everyone has problems, speed bumps, and obstacles, accept them and move on with your life, life is too short to stress over things you cannot change. Leave the big details up to God.

9) Grow- Grow in mind, body, and soul. Learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others and make every experience a growing experience.

10) Die- When your time to die comes, die with grace, die knowing you lived life to its fullest and became all you could be. Die knowing you played hard during your childhood but didn’t lose sense of reality. Die knowing you partied hard when you were young, but still respected your values and morals. Die knowing you cherished family and friends when you were an adult but still asserted yourself so people wouldn’t take advantage of you, die knowing you contemplated and reminisced during your old age but did not forget to laugh in the process.

Waking life - we are the authors

“On this bridge,” Lorca warns, “life is not a dream. Beware. And beware. And beware.” And so many think because Then happened, Now isn’t. But didn’t I mention the ongoing “wow” is happening right now? We are all co-authors of this dancing exuberance where even our inabilities are having a roast. We are the authors of ourselves, co-authoring a gigantic Dostoevsky novel, starring clowns. This entire thing we’re involved with called the world, is an opportunity to exhibit how exciting alienation can be. Life is a matter of a miracle that is collected over time by moments, flabbergasted to be in each other’s presence. The world is an exam to see if we can rise into direct experience. Our eyesight is here as a test to see if we can see beyond it. Matter is here as a test for our curiosity. Doubt is here as an exam for our vitality. Thomas Mann wrote that he would rather participate in life than write 100 stories. Giacometti was once run down by a car, and he recalled falling into a lucid faint, a sudden exhilaration, as he realized that at last something was happening to him. An assumption develops that you cannot understand life and live life simultaneously. I do not agree entirely. Which is to say I do not exactly disagree. I would say that life understood is life lived. But the paradoxes bug me, and I can learn to love and make love to the paradoxes that bug me. And on really romantic evenings of self, I go salsa dancing with my confusion. Before you drift off, don’t forget. Which is to say, remember. Because remembering is so much more a psychotic activity than forgetting. Lorca, in that same poem said that the iguana will bite those who do not dream. And as one realizes that one is a dream figure in another person’s dream, that is self awareness.
